In just over a year, my son has gone from just being able to hold the sticks properly to now playing regularly in our church’s youth band where he plays in front of nearly 250 people!  Matt is extremely knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating and you can tell has a deep passion for the drums as well as the success and growth of his students.

I was an untrained bass player for 10 years with dynamic and timing issues. After both of my bands broke up, I decided I wanted to play drums and signed up for lessons at a music store close to my house. After a few months of not seeing improvement and many cancellations from my former teacher, a friend recommended Matt. I immediately saw his dedication to his students and his patience. Matt was always very patient with him, redirected him when he would get distracted, and made it fun to learn. 2+ years later, we still enjoy weekly lessons. Matt pushes his students to review what was learned in the previous weeks, but also keeps moving forward with learning new material and adapting his teaching as the student grows.
